The course is an 18 hole 5317 metre – par rated 67 course, the course is 9 hole layout played from multi tee positions. the fairways and grass greens have been extensively renovated since 2010,and a recycled water system along with dam provide the club water security to improve the course.
The signature hole on the course is perhaps one of the most unique holes in Victoria. Called the quarry hole, it is constructed in the bottom of a disused bluestone quarry. This means you are unsighted to the green from the tee. You have to hit over a screen of olive tree in front of the quarry, but once over the only place is the bottom of the pit. The next assignment is to put your ball in the small hole. People have travelled long distances just to play Winchelsea because of the quarry hole. Some older locals used to call it the Aquarium. This name comes from the time of the racecourse when the quarry had a pond in the bottom of it and ducks reside there.
